Dark matter

From λ LUMENWARD

Dark matter is a form of matter inferred from gravitational effects on visible matter, radiation, and large-scale structure. It does not emit, absorb, or reflect electromagnetic radiation in a directly detectable way.

Dark matter is discussed in astrophysics, cosmology, and particle physics.

Status

Dark matter has not been directly detected. Its properties are inferred from observations such as galaxy rotation curves, gravitational lensing, and cosmic structure formation, and its composition remains unresolved.
